Since as early as the 16th century, Lütetsburg Castle has been owned by the family of the Counts of Inn and Knyphausen, who belonged to the East Frisian nobility, as part of the estate of the same name.

Even today, the historic rooms of Lütetsburg moated castle are also the private residence of the family.

Lütetsburg Castle Gardens is a cultural monument with numerous historical memorials and staffage buildings. Friends of garden architecture will find numerous listed monuments in the park, which bear witness to the turbulent history of the grounds and the owner's family.
